Poetry
Poetry is as diverse as human nature. I have seen as many styles of the art as I have seen people. That said, poets have the rare privilege of condensing soul and emotion and personality into verse. I feel also, that we have the responsibility to be sure those verses are true.
As you pilfer about in my soul, or if you'd prefer a less drastic description for this endeavor, read my works, you will find whimsy, a love of nature, a curiosity for people, and a deep awareness of God. I find in my writing that poetry and prayer spring from the same place. Maybe you feel it too. That deep well within you.
It stirs when you see a beautiful thing, more so when it's unexpected. That well overflows in our moments of quiet desperation or fervent joy, and the waters of our soul break loose for a flitting moment and we see and are seen, if only briefly.
So forgive me if my poetry turns to God. He is, after all, the One who carved that well in me.
